The bookstore Leya no Pátio, in Faro, has scheduled for this Saturday, April 28, at 16:30 pm, the presentation of the new book by Carlos Brito “Tempo de Subversion: Páginas Vividas da Residência”, by Mário Zambujal.

The journalist and writer will present this new work by his friend, a former deputy and anti-fascist, which is a little bit the “recent history of our country in small paintings, in vividly colored scenes”.

"The episodes, the emotional reactions, many of the thoughts that we find here are the expression, no longer direct, but decanted by the distance, of the very rich path of a man, of a revolutionary of this century, who watched and was himself invested in an intense struggle of classes and in whose veins ran the hope, to a certain extent frustrated, of a radical and generous transformation of society, of the creation of a world so different from the one that appears to us to be dominated by the hyper-bourgeoisie of the so-called neoliberal capitalism. (…) Tempo de Subversion has excerpts almost from the diary and often mixes lyricism, caricature and epic. It goes (with great leaps and returns) from the 40s, to the flower of youth and the defeat of Nazism, to the attempts of the Sé and Beja, to the colonial war, to the various faces of State terrorism, to trials and perspectives, to freedom conditional on the leaps of the border, Marcelism, the electoral campaign and the democratic agitation of 1973. (…) It's a bit of our country's recent history in small paintings, in vividly colored scenes”.
