LAC – Creative Activities Laboratory is a non-profit cultural association formed in 1995 and headquartered in the Old Chain of Lagos.

The building designed by Cottinelli Telmo and whose foundations are built on an old convent, is a place with history that forms an integral part of the city.

Built with other objectives, it currently reveals an interesting dichotomy between prison/reclusion VS space for creativity/freedom; by becoming a space for creation, it reconverted the molds of its existence, now the cells are a studio space for artists and their use and work contributes to the revitalization of the building, giving it a new history.

The association is a space for artistic residencies with 13 years of existence, whose priority is to develop and expand the PRALAC – Artistic Residency Program at LAC, with the main objective of stimulating and promoting artistic creation in the region and especially in the Southwest Algarve area. .
