The headquarters of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve (AAUAlg) will move to Penha andfrom april 16th and will be located in the former library of the Superior Institute of Engineering of the University of Algarve.
The measure is taken to pursue «the objectives of Restructuring the Services and Stability of the Association», according to an official communication from AAUAlg, which adds that the current facilities, located in a villa in Gambelas, are very expensive.
«Since the financial conditions that AAUALG is currently facing are public, the General Management decided to change its premises, with a view to reducing the expense inherent in maintaining activity in its current work spaces. The proximity of students and other AAUALG services was also a point taken into account in this decision, which aims, above all, to protect jobs and ensure the cohesion of the entire AAUALG team», explained the representatives of the Algarve university students. .
The following services will be concentrated in the new space: Secretariat, Design, Sports Office, Professional Opportunities Office, Finance Department, Human Resources and Administration Department, with conditions to accommodate the General Management and all its work dynamics in the same space. .
The current space of the Professional Opportunities Office, on the Campus of Gambelas, will also assume the role of AAUALG's Delegation on that Campus of the University of Algarve, continuing with this space the Solidarity Store opened in February of this year.
