O Arts and Crafts Center of São Brás de Alportel will host this weekend, on the 24th and 25th, the workshop “How to build a creation of interpretation and Dance”, guided by dancer and choreographer Vera Mantero.

This action takes place on Saturday, between 10:00 am and 13:00 pm and Sunday between 15:00 pm and 18:00 pm and continues the Valados Project, intermunicipal network of training and creation centers in the field of performing arts, created within the scope of the Central Algarve, with the objective of raising awareness and bringing the communities of the participating municipalities closer together, São Brás de Alportel, Faro, Loulé and Tavira, from artistic training.

Organized in partnership by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and Devir/Capa – Center for Performing Arts in the Algarve, this training is aimed at young people of all ages with or without training in the field of dance.

Vera Mantero studied classical dance and joined the Gulbenkian ballet between 1984 and 1989. She started her choreographic career in 1987 and since 1991 has shown her work throughout Europe, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the United States of America and Singapore.

From 2000 onwards Vera Montero devoted herself equally to voice work, singing repertoires of various authors and co-creating experimental music projects.

In 2002 she was awarded the Almada Prize (IPAE/Portuguese Ministry of Culture) and in 2009 the Gulbenkian Art Prize for her career as a creator and performer.
