More than a thousand serpents should participate in Serpa's Historical and Ethnographic Parade, which takes place annually on Easter Day, along with the annual procession that “drags” thousands more from the city to the highest point of the town, integrating both municipal festivals in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The procession is part of the municipal festivities, which should attract more than 50 thousand outsiders to Serpa during the extended, religious and festive weekend that marks the arrival of spring.
From the 6th to the 10th of April, there are dozens of recreational and religious activities, not to mention 10, music shows and gastronomic entertainment to delight the city. If not, pay attention: on the first day, March 6, there is a rally paper (10:00), the Celebration of the Lord's Passion (15:00 pm) and the Procession of the Lord's Burial (22:00 pm). On Saturday, the Low Cost Band will go up to Stage 2 at 17:00, followed by BrainStorm at 18:30. At night, the Três Sangres perform at 00:30.
The religious chapter takes place at 22 pm with an Easter Vigil while at the same time, in Praça da República, the event “Os Alentejanos & Amigos” takes place. Finally, at midnight and at Easter dawn, there are Hallelujahs and a row in the streets of Serpa.
Easter Sunday is popular in Serpa. At the same time, the most religious have a Rosary in Honor of Our Lady. The end of Easter Day sees the Fireworks set loose at Alto da Forca and the Festa Branca with DJ Christian F.
On Monday, 9th, there is street entertainment (10:30 am) and Arrematação dos Ramos (12:00), with the Solemn Party Procession (16:00) and Rockustico performances (18:30) in the afternoon. At night, 22 pm, Rosary in Honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patron saint, and at the same time, in Praça da República, a show by Dinho Zamorano and Banda Clareou. The festival in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, official patroness of the municipality dates back to the mid-XNUMXth century, but her cult in these parts must date back to the XNUMXth century. The chapel dedicated to him, at the highest point of the village, about a kilometer to the south of the city, dates from the beginning of the XNUMXs.
