Associação Música XXI will take to three stages in the South the acclaimed work of Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo «Concerto de Aranjuez», performed by Eudoro Grade on guitar and by the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra, conducted by Eurico Martins.

The Easter Concerts by the Algarve association will take place on March 30 at Teatro Pax Julia, in Beja, on March 31 at Auditório de Lagoa, and at Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, on April 1st. This last show will have a solidary character, with 1 euro of each ticket reverting to the Food Bank Against Hunger of the Algarve.

This well-known and acclaimed work by the Spanish composer, blind since he was 3 years old and one of the biggest names in music in the neighboring country, has inspired composers of the most diverse styles, especially the 2nd movement, «Adágio».

Miles Davis, Paco de Lúcia, Júlio Iglésias, Andrea Bocelli, and Sarah Vaughan are examples of artists who paid tribute to this concert, according to the organization.

Eudoro Grade and the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra will also present an “absolutely original version” of this work. Eudoro Grade is responsible for the Youth Guitar Orchestra of the Algarve and main promoter of this project.

«The Madeira Mandolin Orchestra, created in 1913, with several discs and dvds published, has also performed in Spain, Austria and especially in England, where the Concert in the Chapel of St. Georges in Windsor, on the occasion of the commemorations, stands out. of the Jubilee of the Queen of England», adds Associação Música XXI.
