Monchique and Barrancos maintain "very high" risk of fire

The municipalities of Monchique, in the district of Faro, Barrancos (Beja) and also Pampilhosa da Serra (Coimbra), Sardoal (Santarém) and Portel (Évora) present today a "very high" risk of fire, the second most serious of a scale of five, reported the Meteorology Institute (IM).

The fire risk, determined by the IM, comprises five levels, ranging from “reduced” to “maximum”.

On Monday, 66 incidents were recorded, fought by 597 workers, supported by 177 vehicles, while this Tuesday, since 00:00, seven fires have already been registered.
