Two young people aged 19 and 21 were arrested and 1200 individual doses of hashish were seized following a police operation to combat drug trafficking in the Alvor area, triggered by the GNR Criminal Investigation Nucleus in Portimão.

Another 35-year-old man was also appointed as a defendant.

The GNR says, in a statement, that for about a year it had been investigating this case, having yesterday complied with three house search warrants, in the area of ​​Alvor, Ladeira do Vau and Pedra Mourinha, in the municipality of Portimão.

Two defense sprays, an extendable baton, two swords, rattles, two mobile phones and 600 euros in money suspected of coming from drug trafficking were also seized.

The two suspects will be present at the Court of Portimão this afternoon, in order to be subjected to the first judicial interrogation.

The investigations will continue within the scope of the inquiry under the responsibility of the GNR Criminal Investigation Nucleus of Portimão.
