The Franchise Roadshow 2012 starts on March 31 in the city of Faro, with the participation of several franchised brands looking for potential partners and interested in creating their own business or job.

The initiative, launched by the Franchising Information Institute (IIF), in partnership with the Employment and Vocational Training Institute (IEFP), will travel between March and November through seven district capitals, which represent 40% of the national purchasing power. .

The event intends to be a booster of regional entrepreneurship and a tool to promote the creation of one's own employment locally, in articulation with national and local institutions.

The Roadshow of Faro takes place on the 31st, at the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School and begins at 9:30 am, with a Seminar, whose opening session will be assured by the mayor, Macário Correia.

Below is an overview of Franchising in Portugal and the main steps to undertake in franchising by the director of the IIF Andreia Jotta and an intervention by António Palma, director of the Centro de Emprego de Faro (IEFP), dedicated to the theme “Support for the Creation of Own Employment”.

During the Roadshow, participants will also have the opportunity to hear the testimonies of three local franchisees and, above all, meet with the franchising brands participating in the event and seeking partners in the Algarve region.

A total of 16 brands such as OneBiz, Depilconcept BIZ, Multixpress, Decisions and Solutions, Perfect Prints, Optimus Negócios, Remax, Finaccount, NBrand, Stetikxpress, Solar Project, A Green Space, Vertical, WSI and GesArrenda presenting business concepts with investment starting from 1.500 euros.

Given the current economic context and the need to find professional alternatives to overcome situations of professional instability or even unemployment, the IIF decided to create the Franchise Roadshow.

The initiative was designed to meet potential entrepreneurs throughout the country, in order to present a solution that promotes job creation locally.

The event has the support of local business associations, such as ACRAL – Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve Region, CEAL – Confederation of Entrepreneurs of the Algarve and NERA – Business Association of the Algarve Region, as well as, of course, the City Council in Faro.

After Faro, the Franchise Roadshow goes to Coimbra, 21st of April, Évora, 23rd of June, Castelo Branco, 14th of July, Braga, 22nd of September, Viseu, 20th of October and Porto, 17th of November.

Andreia Jotta, Director General of the IIF, explains that “the choice of Faro for the start of this Roadshow is related to the immense potential that we have identified in the Algarve region for entrepreneurship and the possibility of creating companies under a franchising regime”.

“With the creation of this innovative initiative, we want to bring new professional perspectives to different regions of the country through the creation of their own jobs via franchising, which appears to be a safer option and with less risk for entrepreneurs”, he added.

"We also had the objective of establishing a network of partnerships that would support this initiative, as we believe that, today more than ever, it is important that all institutions join efforts with the common objective of contributing to the dynamization of economic activity and regional entrepreneurship , as well as the respective business environment”, concluded Andreia Jotta.
