The director of the Social Security Center of Faro, Ofélia Ramos, visited the various social institutions in the municipality of Alcoutim last Friday.
The choir of the “Grupo de Cantares de Idosos do Lar de Alcoutim” received the regional director, who also visited the institution's new physiotherapy room, financed by the local authority.
The official delegation then went to the Balurcos, where they visited the work of the Home of the Local Solidarity Association, having met with the Institution's Board.
In Martim Longo, the delegation visited the dilapidated premises of the former Casa do Povo, where it is planned, in conjunction with the Red Cross of Martim Longo and the local authority, to create a Night Center for the elderly.
The visits to the Martim Longo and Vaqueiros Day Centers and Day Centers (managed by the respective Parish Centers) ended the journey of the representative of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, with the promise of doing everything to support the alcoholic community, which she considered an example for everyone the Algarve.
