Portimonense and Olhanense – which, despite the 7th place, has not mathematically guaranteed their permanence – may have ensured, this Monday night, their maintenance in the Liga Orangina and Zon Sagres, respectively.

The League of Clubs approved in the General Assembly the expansion of professional football leagues, without any relegation, but the approval of the Portuguese Football Federation is still lacking for the clubs' decision to become effective.

On the table, there was the proposal to create a "liguilha" between the last two classified in the Zon Sagres League and the 3rd and 4th classified in the Liga Orangina to decide who occupied the two vacancies left open in the main league - which will keep 18 clubs – solution clubs rejected.

Without “liguilla”, the solution found was to leave everything as it is, that is, no one goes down. In a statement published on the website of the Portuguese Professional Football League, the entity explains that "the proposal of the liguilha as a solution to determine the two vacancies was unsuccessful, having prevailed a solution of "recap" of the 15th and 16th classified this season, and the two vacancies created by the non-presence of these clubs in the next edition of the Liga Orangina will be filled by the 15th and 16th classified of the present edition of the same competition».

Liga Orangina will have, in 2012/2013, 22 teams, including 6 B teams from clubs participating in the Zon Sagres League.
