Next Monday, February 27th, the six municipalities of the Central Algarve will start various fieldworks with a view to developing the Interurban Mobility Study (EMI). The objective is to learn about the population's travel habits.

The municipalities of Albufeira, Faro, Olhão, Loulé, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira are developing an Interurban Mobility Study (EMI), following the application approved under the Specific Regulation “Cities Policy – Urban Networks for Competitiveness and Innovation”, co-financed by the FEDER , approved by POAlgarve21, whose preparation was awarded to the company DHV SA

As part of the study, it is essential to know the daily commuting habits of the resident population, those who carry out their activity or travel in this territory, as well as their opinion regarding the transport system.

To this end, a series of fieldwork will begin on February 27, including telephone surveys to residents, surveys of individual transport users (in locations duly signposted by the police) and surveys at the bus terminals of Faro, Quarteira, Loulé, Albufeira, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira and at the train stations in Albufeira, Loulé, Faro and Tavira (in Olhão they have already been carried out under the Mobility and Transport Plan).

The contribution of citizens, collaborating in the investigations, is considered “essential” by the plan's promoters.
