The Lagoa GNR detained on Tuesday morning, at 8:00 am, in Pateiro, a 33-year-old man who was preparing to sell to a scrap dealer five sewer caps that he had stolen in recent days in the Alcantarilha (Silves) area.
The man, resident in Porches, was detained during a road inspection operation.
The metal caps, according to GNR, are owned by a company in the region, to which they were returned, costing 292 euros each.
The detainee, who had no criminal record, was present at the Judicial Court of Portimão, yesterday at 14 pm, and was given a Term of Identity and Residence.
