The withdrawal by the municipal executive of the proposal for a new tax on water resources in the municipality of Olhão was a "clear setback for the benefit of many families from Olhão", considered the Left Algarve Block in a statement.
BE «welcomes» the decision of the executive led by Francisco Leal, who decided to withdraw from the agenda at the last Municipal Assembly of Olhão a point that «aimed at approving a tax, based on DL 97/2008, on water resources of the Council in a user-pays and polluter-pays logic».
«CMO, ARH, PNRF and AdP are accomplices in the consecutive attacks against Ria Formosa in the municipality of Olhão and, despite several warnings, nothing was done. Now, interventions have to be made to solve these problems and they want the people from Olhão to pay the bill», claimed the municipal deputy of BE in Olhão Marcos Quitério.
