The Câmara de Lagoa found an original and solidary way to commemorate the 239th anniversary of the creation of the municipality: on Saturday, January 14th, at 21 pm, the Municipal Auditorium receives a show with "solidarity tickets" in exchange for non-perishable food, which will be delivered to the county's social support institutions.

The Orquestra de Sopros do Algarve is the headliner for this concert, but there will still be popular, light and humorous music. The event also includes the intervention of the Grupo de Cantares do Parchal, Grupo Fonte Nova, Beto Kalulu, “Moce dum capreste”, Rancho Folclórico do Calvário, Pedro Frias and Ondina Santos.

During the show, the Chamber will pay tribute to the association's associative movement, consisting of 42 communities and new Private Institutions of Social Solidarity (IPSS).

Tickets for the show are solidary, that is, spectators are asked to donate, upon entering the Auditorium, non-perishable food items that the Municipal Social Action Services will distribute to social solidarity institutions and needy families.

The City Council emphasizes that the municipality of Lagoa has 42 active cultural, sporting and humanitarian associations.

All of them strive “in the difficult times in which we live, to keep alive the spark of associationism as the best response to social, cultural and sporting dynamics.
