The book «Sweet Potatoes of Aljezur | Traditional and Author Recipes» (bilingual edition), is in the final stages of production and will be presented at the next Sweet Potato Festival in Aljezur, which runs from December 1st to 4th.

This book contains more than 50 sweet potato recipes, some known throughout the region, others reinterpreted by chefs from traditional dishes, and others created from scratch.

In common, they all have the tasty sweet potato from Aljezur and the fact that they can be executed by anyone who knows the kitchen's bê-á-bá.

Aljezur Sweet Potato is a product of excellence, classified as IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) and lends itself to an imaginative recipe: Bean soup with sweet potato, octopus salad with sweet potato, roasted mackerel with potato. sweet, pork rojões with sweet potato fries, sweet potato cabbage, sweet potato pie, sweet potato cake with almond, sweet potato holly, sweet potato bread…

This is an edition of the Municipality of Aljezur, with production and content in charge of 1000olhos. The texts are by Teresa Resende, the production by chef Vítor Esteves and the photographs by João Mariano.

The Aljezur Sweet Potato Festival will maintain the format of the previous year, with the exhibition of local crafts, the promotion of sweets based on local sweet potatoes, with the presence of local sweets, and, of course, , the food court, where it will be possible to taste unique recipes in one of the four restaurants or the three taverns present there.

Visitors will also be invited to learn from some of the best chefs, various recipes based on Aljezur's sweet potato in the area dedicated for this purpose.
