I would like to know what forms the Gulf of Cadiz is and if there could be natural gas in this area? The answer will be given by Joaquim Luís, professor at the University of Algarve, researcher at Instituto D. Luís and guest of the next Ocean Coffee, which takes place at 18:30 pm on the 10th, at Courtyard of LettersOn Faro.

O Ocean Coffee is a space for informal discussion on issues related to the ocean, which was born from an original idea of Oceanography students from the former Faculty of Marine and Environmental Sciences (FCMA) and Professor Cristina Veiga Pires, also a professor at that faculty and currently deputy director from the Faculty of Science and Technology at UAlg.

This get-together normally takes place once a month, in a café-bar in Faro. To participate, you don't need to be an expert, just curiosity and interest in the matters under discussion.

The panel of experts, responsible for the monthly presentation of each topic, and the moderation of the discussion, usually provided by Cristina Veiga Pires, encourage the participation of the entire population.

“The greater the diversity of perspectives, the better”, stresses the project's mentor. This initiative, already six years old, had its first edition on May 19, 2005, at Bar do Álvaro, in Campus of Gambelas.
