Quality in Public Administration motivates journeys in Lagos

At a time when quality is one of the issues “on the agenda”, the Municipality of Lagos – aware of this situation and the challenges facing the public administration, and in particular the local administration – decided to promote the realization of some reflection days dedicated to this theme.

Judging by the number of entries – which have sold out the capacity of the Auditorium of Paços do Concelho XXI Century – the initiative promises to mark the debate around the theme.

The Quality Days, promoted by the Municipality of Lagos, elected as the main theme “Quality in Public Administration”.

This initiative, taking place tomorrow, the 14th of October, at the Auditorium of Paços do Concelho Séx. XXI, will address issues as diverse as “Performance, Quality and Value Creation in Public Services”, “Performance Assessment Systems and Quality Management”, “Management Systems: New Challenges for Organizations", among others.

The target audiences of these Conferences are, primarily, workers in central and local public administration services.

The range of speakers includes reputable entities such as APCER, which has been associated with this initiative from the outset, university institutions, renowned consultants, including consultants from Ibero Gestão, an entity that monitored the certification process of the Chamber's services. Municipality of Lagos, and also representatives of other entities that bring their own experience.

The Municipality of Lagos is certified by NP EN ISO 9001: 2008, covering services provided by all organic units of the municipality, namely: Department of Technical and Administrative Support, Department of Planning and Urban Management, Department of Education, Culture and Social Action, Department of Environment and Urban Services, Inspection Division, Planning and Control Division, Information Systems and Technologies Division and Communication Division.
