Sam Lowes, from the Algarve team Parkalgar Honda, took second place on the podium in this Sunday's World Championship race in Supersport, in Magny-Cours, France.

The other driver of the Portuguese team, Miguel Praia, did not have the easy task and after a less good start he ended up finishing in 13th place.

Sam Lowes did everything to get the much-desired victory, but once again, he ended up taking second place.

In what was the penultimate race of the Motorcycling Supersport Championship, Briton Chaz Davies was crowned world champion.

As for the Portuguese team, the chance of winning is thus relegated to the last round of the Championship in Portimão: “At the beginning of the race I suffered a little bit until I found my rhythm. I did my best but I didn't have the time to catch the first one. We now leave for Portimão and I hope to give the team victory at 'home'. It would be a huge party for everyone and a very deserved result”, he said.

Miguel Praia was disappointed with the final result: “it wasn't what we expected but unfortunately I made a bad start that made me lose several positions”.

“Then I ran into rear tire grip issues. I ended up running for a long time in 12th place. When already in the final corners I decided to attack 11th place I forced the brakes and dropped to 13th. Under the conditions it was the possible result”, he said.

The last race of the season takes place in property to Parkalgar Honda, at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, where the team hopes to achieve the much-desired victory of the season.
