The 2011 Best Student Award, promoted by the City Council of São Brás de Alportel, with the collaboration of the José Belchior Viegas School Group, awarded six São Brasenses students with a trip to the city of Madrid.

In order to enhance the merit of young people from São Brasenses, the municipality annually awards the two best final year students in the various education cycles, from the 2nd cycle of basic education onwards, providing these young people with a trip at the end of their holidays.

In the 2011 edition, the destination of merit was the Spanish capital, which hosted between 7 and 11 September this selection of the best students in the municipality, namely the two best 6th grade students (Inana Pott Wolfsdorf and Lúcia Gonçalves Nunes, finalists of the 2nd cycle of basic education), the two best students of the 9th year (Isabel Alexandra Pimenta and João Pedro Rodrigues Martins, finalists of the 3rd cycle) and the two best finalists of secondary education (Inês Verissimo Mendonça and Sara Isabel Sancho Eusébio).

The trip to Madrid allowed São Brasenses students a visit to the official residence of the King of Spain, the Royal Palace of Madrid and an unforgettable panoramic tour of the Spanish capital, which led young people to discover the city's numerous tourist attractions: more than half hundreds of museums, around eight dozen monuments, among many other leisure spaces that will remain forever in your memory.

On August 30th, the symbolic delivery of tickets to the winners of the 2010/2011 Best Students Award took place at the Main Hall of the City Hall of São Brás de Alportel, an annual commitment that aims to encourage and value young people to pursue their career with distinction. student path, essential for a successful future.
