“Um Filme Português” is the name of the documentary that opens at 18:45 pm on Friday, the 28th, at the cinema London, in Lisbon. It is a feature film, part of the research project “Main Trends in Contemporary Portuguese Cinema”, by the Center for Research in Arts and Communication (CIAC), based at the University of Algarve and at the School of Theater and Cinema (ESTC). ).

This documentary consists of six 17-second segments and is signed by the directors Levi Martins, Vitor Alvez, Miguel Cipriano, Jorge Jácome, Vanessa Sousa Dias and Carlos Pereira.

It interviewed several national personalities in Theater and Cinema, such as Luís Miguel Oliveira, Graça Castanheira, António-Pedro Vasconcelos, Luís Urbano, Manuel Mozos, Paulo Rocha, Jorge Silva Melo, Joaquim Sapinho, Saguenail and Regina Guimarães, João Canijo, João Botelho, João Pedro Rodrigues, João Guerra da Mata, Possidónio Cachapa, Miguel Valverde, Marco Martins, Manuela Viegas, Rita Azevedo Gomes, João Lopes, Cláudia Varejão, João Salaviza and Gabriel Abrantes.

“Six views on a country, and its place in the world, through cinema. A journey along the road, across new frontiers, looking for sights, sounds and stories. A talking film, narrated by different generations, trying to decode yesterday, today and tomorrow of cinema made in Portugal. A reflection on the current concerns linked to the aesthetic, dramatic and production systems of films, returning to an old question: what is cinema, after all?”
