As part of the celebration of the International Year of Chemistry, the Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve, in Faro, will promote, during the month of November, a series of lectures called “Q4 at the Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve” for which he invites teachers and students from schools in the Algarve to participate.

The lectures will take place at the Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve during the month of November, on Wednesday afternoons (from 15:00 pm to 16:30 pm), in an informal gathering environment.

Each lecture will start with an experimental demonstration as an introduction to each of the themes to be explored with the participation of all those present.

The first lecture, which is scheduled for November 2, will be given by Victor Gil, a retired professor at the University of Coimbra, who will speak on «About Chemistry: Enchantment & Harmony + Chance & Search».

On the 9th, Américo Lemos, from the University of Algarve, will speak about «Chemistry in Daily Life».

Maria de Lurdes Cristiano, from the University of Algarve, will address the theme “Chemistry in the development of Medicines”, on the 16th.

Finally, on November 25th, it will be the turn of Alice Newton, also from UAlg, to talk about «Chemistry of the Sea».
