The 9th Algarve Archeology Meeting will take place between the 20th and 22nd of October, at the International Fair of Silves (FISSUL).

The meeting aims to publicize the most relevant archaeological works that took place in the Algarve region in the 2010/2011 biennium, promote scientific debate on issues related to archaeological activity in the geographical context of the Algarve and raise awareness of the importance of social promotion of archaeological activity, preservation and enhancement of the archaeological heritage.

Prehistory, Protohistory, Roman, Archeology and Urban Rehabilitation, Medieval, Islamic and Modern are the themes that make up the seven panels and the round table of this edition.

Registration runs until October 20th, and has an associated cost of €40 or €80 (without and with minutes, respectively); and for students of €30 or €70 (with and without minutes, respectively).

The Algarve Archeology Meeting is promoted by the Municipality of Silves, in partnership with the University of Algarve, the Institute for the Management of Architectural and Archaeological Heritage (Igespar) and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
