The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, in collaboration with the Administration of the Hydrographic Region (ARH) of the Algarve, promotes during the month of September a series of clarification sessions on “Cleaning streams and water lines”.

With the rainy season approaching by leaps and bounds, the Municipal Office for Civil Protection and Defense of Forests recalls that “the cleaning and unblocking of natural drainage water lines is the responsibility of the owners, in private areas, outside the clusters urban areas and should preferably be held by September 30th”.

In this context, clarification actions will be developed on the 21st, 23rd and 27th of September, with the aim of sensitizing the owners to cleaning the water lines and minimizing the negative effects caused by the floods.

Guided by technicians from the Municipal Civil Protection Office and the Algarve's ARH, the sessions will start tomorrow at 17:00 at the Sociedade Recreativa do Alportel, at Sítio de Alportel.

The second session will take place on the 23rd, at the Headquarters of the Futebol Clube da Cabeça do Velho, at Sítio da Cabeça do Velho, at 17:00 pm, while the last clarification action is scheduled for September 27, at 17:30 pm, at Casa José Natalino, in Sítio da Mesquita.

“Alongside these sessions, the Municipal Office for Civil Protection and Defense of the Forest also promotes small-scale actions among the population in cafes, mini-markets, headquarters of local associations and other spaces with greater affluence, with a view to informing as many people as possible. of people possible on the ways of acting in the face of heavy winter precipitation, in rural or urban areas”, states the City Council of São Brás de Alportel in a press release.
