The 2011 edition of the Allgarve Masters Series in golf had the largest participation ever by players in the history of the event and the sport in Portugal.
The winners will be announced on October 1st at the National Final to be played at the Pestana Vila Sol Golf & Resort Hotel, in Vilamoura (www.pestana.com), one of the most sought after courses in the region and signed by the architect Donald Steel.
The circuit involved approximately 4.000 golfers from North to South, in the 60 qualifiers, which took place between June and September.
The numbers confirm the consolidation and prestige of one of the largest amateur golf circuits held in Portugal.
Among the new features of this year's Final is the debut of the Porto Santo Golfe club, with a team that will purposely come from Madeira to the Algarve to participate in the closing event of the Allgarve Masters Series.
At the invitation of Turismo do Algarve, the two best classified teams in the National Final will have the privilege of playing alongside the best professionals in the world the «Pro-Am» of the Portugal Masters, a tournament with a prize money of 2,5 million euros that will take place from the 13th to the 18th of October at the Oceânico Victoria Golf Course.
For the vice-president of Algarve Tourism Helena Mak, the Allgarve Masters Series 2011 achieved the proposed goals: “the large participation of players in the qualifiers confirms the success of our commitment to this circuit and to golf, promoting the Algarve as an excellent destination for the practice of the modality. We hope that the Final will be a very exciting and healthy competition moment”.
The National Final will start at 08:00 am this Saturday. At the same time, there will be actions to promote the sport and the organization promises to surprise the participants.
The party ends with an awards dinner at the Pestana Vila Sol Golf & Resort Hotel, for players and guests.

The Allgarve Masters Series 2011 circuit is organized by Hole In One with the support of Turismo do Algarve and aims to promote the «Allgarve» program and the Portugal Masters in the domestic market, reaching a universe of 147 Clubs representing about 15 thousand players
