Vila Real de Santo António and Monte Gordo They honor their patroness, with traditional festivals, on the first two weekends of September.

The festivities of Nossa Senhora de Encarnação, patron saint of Vila Real de Santo António, take place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of September, with music and dance shows at Praça Marquês de Pombal.

On the 2nd, Friday, the Santo António de Arenilha Ethnographic Group and the Folklore Group of Praia da Manta Rota take to the stage.

On Saturday 3rd, singer Baby Lores will toast those present with the Latin rhythms of Cuba, while on 4th it will be the turn of Banda Vide Versus to perform to the public. All shows are free.

The procession in honor of Our Lady goes out on Sunday at 18 pm and will go through some of the main arteries of the city.

On the 8th, 9, 10th, 11th and 15th of September it is time to Monte Gordo hold its festivities in honor of Nossa Senhora das Dores, patron saint of fishermen.

The highlight of the festivities in honor of Nossa Senhora das Dores is the religious procession, on the 11th, at 18:00, marked by a very characteristic nature. Walks along the sandy beach of Monte Gordo, accompanied not only by hundreds of faithful and curious, but also by fishing boats that, with their horns and the launch of rockets, announce the passage of the religious procession.

As part of the traditional festivities, the usual boat race in the bay of Monte Gordo.

For the five nights, from 22:00, several concerts are scheduled in the West area of Monte Gordo.

On the 8th, there is a musical show with Grupo Duo Reflexo and, on the 9th, it is the turn of the Ethnographic Group Santo António de Arenilha and the Folklore Group of Praia da Manta Rota to present themselves to the public.

The Uns & Outros Band concert arrives on Saturday night and, to end the festivities, on Sunday, the singer Luís Represas takes the stage. All events are free to enter.

On the 15th, the celebration of the Eucharist will take place in AThanksgiving.
