Loulé distributes more than 500 thousand euros to 26 cultural associations in the municipality

The Municipality of Loulé will distribute around 522 thousand euros this year to 26 cultural associations in the municipality. 

The program-contracts were signed this Wednesday, May 24, as part of the support for the Chamber's cultural and recreational associative movement for this year.

With this support, the municipality intends to boost the work of these cultural and recreational associations in the municipality, «providing them with the
ability to develop its annual plan of activities'. At the same time, these contracts will allow access to support in a “transparent and impartial” way.

The amount distributed «will benefit structures and cultural projects that, regardless of their time of existence and/or activities they carry out, translate the existing cultural and recreational dynamics, their necessary dispersion throughout the territory and the glimpse of the paths that Culture, as development sustainability, has assumed more and more in this municipality».

In a note, the municipality states that "culture is one of the identity marks of the Municipality of Loulé and one of the priority areas in municipal management: whether in supporting the associative movement, in the development of projects in the various cultural sectors or in the rehabilitation and enhancement of the its built heritage, as is the more recent case of the musealization of the Islamic Baths and Manor House of Barreto, the work carried out has been recognized by all».

The program contracts were signed with the 1st Companhia de Guias de Loulé, Ao Luar Teatro – Ideias Culturais, APALGAR – Associação de Amizade dos PALOP no Algarve, Associação Al´Musa, Associação Alfaia, Associação Amigos do Alentejo, Associação Artística Satori, Associação Cultural de Salir, Cultural and Recreational Association of Barrosas, Garvefole Accordion Association, Unitum Voces Loulé Choir Association, Friends of Cortelha Association, Geonauta Association, Akredita em Ti Youth Association, Os Barões Association, Tôr Social and Cultural Association, Casa da Cultura de Loulé, Parragilense Social and Cultural Centre, Monte Seco Cultural and Recreational Club, Corpo de Hoje – Cultural Association, Figo Lampo – Cultural and Environmental Association, Folha de Medronho – Performing Arts Association, Manuel Viegas Guerreiro Foundation, Grupo dos Friends of Loulé, Mákina de Cena – cultural association and Sociedade Filarmónica Artistas de Minerva.

Vítor Aleixo appealed to the associations to become increasingly involved in the community and cultural life of the municipality, contributing to the reaffirmation of Loulé as a cultural reference in the Country.
