Farense rises to 2nd place and has already secured at least the play-off to climb to the I Liga

The Algarve have 60 points, one more than Estrela da Amadora, which is in 3rd place

Farense beat FC Porto B by 2-0 in a match for the 31st round of the II Football League, played this Sunday, May 7th, at Estádio São Luís, in Faro. With the triumph, the Algarve rose to 2nd place and have already secured, at least, the play-off to climb to the I Liga.

The Algarve knew that this was a crucial game in the fight for promotion, after Moreirense had beaten Estrela da Amadora yesterday and Académico de Viseu had drawn XNUMX-XNUMX with Penafiel.

Even so, the truth is that Farense didn't start the game well – FC Porto B dominated the first minutes and could have scored in the 13th minute.

After crossing, Marcus headed and Ricardo Velho was well defended.

Farense managed to balance and, at 30', claimed a penalty for an alleged foul on Marco Matias, inside the area. The referee ordered it to go.

At the end of the first half, the draw was accepted, despite the slight blue and white rise.

In the second half, the Algarve started better and early took the lead.

At the 55th minute, Ponde made an excellent cross, Matheus Oliveira dominated in the area and shot to the back of the net.

The result was closed already near the end. Marco Matias won a penalty, in the 86th minute, converted by Rui Costa.

Until the end of the II Liga, there are three games left for Farense – Nacional (away), Benfica B (away) and Tondela (home). The Algarve have 60 points, one more than Estrela da Amadora, which is in 3rd place.
