Increase in turnover in retail trade slows down to 0,4% in March

The year-on-year increase in Turnover in Retail Trade decelerated to 0,4% in March, against 0,6% in February, announced today the National Statistics Institute (INE).

In a statement released today, INE states that the employment, wage and hours worked indices showed year-on-year growth of 2,3%, 10,5% and 2,1% in March, against respectively 1,9%, 12,4% and 3,8% in March.

In the first quarter of 2023, retail trade sales grew by 1,6% year-on-year, against a contraction of 0,7% in the fourth quarter of 2022.
