ACTA criticizes Minister of Culture for not having scheduled a meeting on his visit to the Algarve

Pedro Adão e Silva's agenda includes visits on the afternoon of this Wednesday, March 1st, to the Creative Activities Laboratory (LAC) and to the Museum of Lagos and the Fortress of Sagres, on Thursday, the 2nd.

ACTA – Companhia de Teatro do Algarve criticized this Wednesday, March 1st, the Minister of Culture for not having scheduled a meeting with this theater structure during the Government's visit to the Algarve, this Wednesday and Thursday, 1st and March 2nd.

In a statement, ACTA says it is "strange" that the official has not, "at the very least, expressed his intention to meet with A Companhia de Teatro do Algarve due to the recent exclusion of support from the Directorate-General for Arts".

The structure of the Algarve justifies this astonishment, for example, with the fact that «multiple entities and personalities» have publicly expressed «their displeasure for interpreting such a decision as an unacceptable incongruity in view of the performance of ACTA over 25 years in the Algarve region , in the country and abroad”.

«In view of demands that have already been made», ACTA understands that, «with respect to institutional designs, it should be the member of the Government with responsibility for Culture» to request this meeting.

Pedro Adão e Silva's agenda includes visits on the afternoon of this Wednesday, March 1st, to the Creative Activities Laboratory (LAC) and to the Lagos Museum.

For tomorrow, a visit is reserved, with the Prime Minister, to the Exhibition Center of the Fortress of Sagres.
