106 accidents recorded in the last week in the Algarve

That caused one serious injury and 19 minor injuries

The GNR recorded 106 accidents in the week of February 13th to 19th, with one seriously injured and 19 slightly injured.

The results of the operation to prevent and combat violent crime and road inspection were released this Monday, February 20, and also account for 759 offenses detected in traffic: 153 for speeding, 52 related to anomalies in the lighting and signaling, 49 due to lack of mandatory periodical inspection, 29 due to lack of civil liability insurance, 16 due to lack or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint system and XNUMX due to improper use of mobile phones while driving .

During this period, 63 people were arrested: 24 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 14 for driving without a legal license and three for drug trafficking. 

From the 13th to the 19th of February, 367 doses of hashish were seized, a taser disguised as a flashlight, a kitchen knife with a 12,5 cm blade, used to cut the product, 2 euros in cash and three mobile phones.

In the last week, 53 actions were also carried out which sensitized 1 people under the Safe School Program and 344 people under the Safe Elderly Programme.
