Since 2020, the Municipality of Silves has offered a symbolic trousseau to all newborns in the county, as a welcome gift to the world.
This project, launched by the municipality through the Education Poles, aims to "bring together two different generations, in this desire that unites us all: to believe that a new life is a promise of a better and happier future", explains Rosa Palma, the president of the Chamber of Silves.
The gifts, «made with love and care by the grandmothers», are the Municipality of Silves’ way of wishing the best of luck to the child and the whole family.
All newborns in the county can receive the “Mimos D'Avós”. Just present the civil registration card/document to the Education Sector of the Municipality of Silves, located at Rua João de Deus, n.º 19 (next to the Parish Council of Silves).
