The second edition of “Outonitos de Teatro”, an initiative that aims to promote “theatrical culture” for children and young people, takes place from the 8th to the 15th of October, at TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão.

«The initiative, whose first edition took place at the Portimão Museum in 2019, aims to stimulate and promote theatrical culture for children and young people, as well as the interrelation between theater groups and companies, stimulating in parallel the social animation of the city», explains the Portimão City Council.

It is also the objective of the organizers, in charge of TIPO – Teatro Infantil de Portimão in partnership with the Municipality of Portimão, to fill the gap that has occurred since the end of the “Autumn Theater”, allowing children and their families the opportunity to attend theater plays aimed at this age group.

The program starts this Saturday, October 8, with the play “O donkey stubborn”, which the Bonecos de Almar Company takes to the stage of the Small Auditorium from 16:00, in a session for families.

The play is part of the traditional repertoire of Teatro Dom Roberto, or Teatro de Robertos, a traditional Portuguese form of puppet theater whose origins date back to the XNUMXth century.

Traditionally presented at fairs, pilgrimages and streets, this theatrical expression is characterized by small wooden and rag dolls that bring to life simple stories of Portuguese reality, marked by the strident sound of the pick placed in the puppeteer's mouth and the inevitable scene of a beating.

Next, on October 11th, the Companhia Era Uma Vez Marionetas, with the play “O Lixo do Sr. Bernardo”, which will be interpreted from 11:00 am in the Small Auditorium, in a session aimed at children from kindergartens and the 1st cycle of Basic Education.

On the 12th and 13th of October, it will be TIPO's turn to stage “O Circo D'el Cordel”, in shows scheduled for 11:00 am in the Black Box of TEMPO and also intended for kindergarten and 1st cycle children. .

Finally, on the 14th and 15th of October, Vicenteatro – Associação de Animação Cultural will star in the Grand Auditorium in the play “Thirty thousand reis and a load of hams”, which results from a reflection on the stories of Fajão, a village in the municipality of Pampilhosa da Serra.

«The dramatized texts, whose origin is lost in time, are of great historical, ethnographic and anthropological wealth and have reached our days through orality, giving rise to collections, university reflections and various artistic works», explains the municipality of Portimonense.

On the 14th, the session takes place at 11:00 am, being dedicated to 1st cycle students, while the session on the 15th is scheduled for 16:00 pm and is aimed at families.
