O Faro Ativo is back, with the Parque de Lazer da Figuras being the epicenter of this sporting event in the county this weekend, 24th and 25th of September.
The initiative has a bold program adapted to all sections of the population, which began on the 3rd of September and runs until the 15th of October.
As usual, the Faro Ativo 2022 takes place in close collaboration with the associative and business fabric of the municipality, namely with Decathlon.
Parque de Lazer das Figuras is once again the “epicenter” of this Faro Active, but the activities will be extended to other spaces and sports facilities in the county, where the population will be able to try different modalities.
Pilates, football, rugby, futsal, judo, capoeira, kickboxing, athletics, gymnastics, skateboarding, padel, volleyball, capoeira, boxing will be some of the modalities that can be tried at Parque de Lazer das Figuras, while Decathlon will host activities such as basketball , golf, baseball, badminton, beach volleyball, beach rackets, horseback riding – horseback riding, billiards or table tennis, as well as spaces dedicated to massages or nutrition.
In turn, Forum Algarve will host activities such as pilates, yoga, urban dances or Latin rhythms.
Another novelty of this event is the “Training – Fnac” Space, also at Forum Algarve, which, next Saturday and Sunday, will host sessions on topics such as “The importance and benefits of physical activity”, “Nutrition in Sport” or “Mental Health in Sport”.
The exhibition “Sport in Faro” will have its closing session on Sunday, September 25th, with Zumba Color, which will take place between 18:00 and 19:00.
Also the Nautical Center of Praia de Faro again receive various activities within the scope of the Faro Active, namely the “Surf & Rescue” activity, on the 25th, from 10:00 am, or a mini expedition to Culatra, on the 15th of October, from 19:00.
At the same time, they will also take place within the scope of the Faro I activate activities such as a youth futsal tournament (São Pedro Futsal Clube de Faro), on the 24th and 25th of September, chess tournaments, on the 25th of September, the children's football tournament Faro International Cup, from 30 September to 2 October, among others.
With this event, the "Municipality of Faro intends to highlight the entities that make up the sports association and business fabric of the municipality and their fundamental role for the development of sport in our territory».
