The Municipality of Lagoa returns next school year to support young people who attend public schools in the municipality.
The novelty was advanced this Friday, August 5, in a note that explains that the help will be made through the distribution of notebooks of sheets and material to preschool and 1st cycle students, vouchers of 25 euros each to students 2nd, 3rd cycles and secondary education, to exchange for school supplies, and free school transport.
As the municipality explains, the notebooks will be offered to schools for later distribution to students, «avoiding the reimbursement that existed in the recent past».
The notebooks of cards will be purchased taking into account the books adopted by each of the Groupings of the public network and, both the material and the notebooks of cards, will arrive at each of the schools at the beginning of the school year.
The vouchers that will be distributed to students in the 2nd, 3rd cycles and secondary education will be delivered at the beginning of the school year, with the collaboration of the School Groups. These vouchers can be exchanged for school supplies until the 31st of December of this year at participating stationery stores in the municipality, which will be announced shortly.
«The distribution of vouchers also aims to help local commerce, since only stationery stores based in the municipality of Lagoa will be able to join this campaign», emphasizes the Chamber.
“The beginning of each school year is always a period when families are forced to make a greater financial effort to buy books and school supplies. With these measures, the Municipality helps all children and young people to start the school year with the necessary material", said Luís Encarnação, mayor of Lagoa.
