VRSA rehabilitates Campsite in Monte Gordo and walkway of Manta Rota

Works will cost around 185 thousand euros

The requalification of the Municipal Camping Park of Monte Gordo and the Manta Rota beach walkway will advance. The interventions represent a global investment of around 185 thousand euros, and are promoted by the Vila Real de Santo António Chamber (VRSA).

The works should be completed by the end of 2022, but will be suspended during the peak of the bathing season, more precisely during the months of July and August, «taking into account the high influx of users».

71,5 euros are earmarked for the rehabilitation of the Manta Rota beach walkway, while the project for the Camping Park of Monte Gordo, in a 1st phase, represents an investment of 113,6 thousand euros.

The works are carried out within the scope of the Gaming Fund, granted by Turismo de Portugal, plus equity in the amount of 76 thousand euros.

«The work on the walkway, which is already underway, aims to acquire materials and repair the sections that are in the worst condition, replacing the damage caused either by wear and tear, or by occasional vandalism, which could put into causes the safety of users", according to the Chamber.

«Already the first phase of the requalification of the Camping Park of Monte Gordo includes the renovation of the five bathhouses of the infrastructure, increasing the comfort of users and the quality of the services provided in this municipal facility that is visited by thousands of people every year», adds the municipality.
