XCM Portuguese Cup: Roberto Ferreira and Ana Tomás win in Alte

Roberto Ferreira (Guilhabreu BTT) and Ana Tomás (BTT Seia) won today the second race of the Portuguese BTT Marathon Cup (XCM), held in Alte, Loulé.

The 82,6 kilometers of the elite men's race saw the dominance of Guilhabreu BTT, which had Roberto Ferreira and Filipe Ramos crossing the finish line in front, ahead of all the competition. The third place, at 2m04s, was Bruno Sancho (Korpo Activo/Penacova). Roberto Ferreira climbed to the top of the overall Cup with the victory in Alte.

The elite runners completed 68,8 kilometers. Also in the women's event there were two runners who stood out from all the others. Ana Tomás won, but Celina Carpinteiro (BTT Loulé/Elevis) only spent two more seconds. Sónia Rodrigues (Garra / Onebike) closed the podium, 4m03s from the winner. Ana Tomás took charge of the Portuguese Cup.

The long list of winners in the veteran categories was made up of masters 30 José Oliveira (MonçãoBike/LusoPrint/Bombos de S. Sebastião) and Ângela Gonçalves (Korpo Activo/Penacova), master 35 Ismael Graça (Korpo Activo/Penacova), 40 masters Nuno Inácio (BTT Gardunha/Fundão/Create) and Raquel Santos (BTT Seia), master 45 Filipe Salvado (BTT Loulé/Elevis), masters 50 António Marques (BTT Seia) and Ana Oliveira (Korpo Activo/Penacova) , master 55 Renato Luís (Róódinhas/Master Vantagem), master 60 Adelino Cruz (BTT Loulé/Elevis) and master 65 Manuel Pinto (Sertex Portugal/Edaetech).

In electric assistance bikes, Carlos Brás (Golden Club Cabanas/Núcleo do Sporting de VRS António) stood out. In paracycling, Ivo Pereira (Róódinhas/Master Vantagem), in class D, and Hugo Frade (Sartex Portugal/Edaetech), in class C, climbed to the podium.

The next national XCM race is the Championship, which will be held in Estremoz, on the 8th of May.
