Portimão joins the Training + Próxima program to fill gaps in the tourism sector

Programa Formação + Próxima aims to train 75 professionals by 2025

The Municipality of Portimão joined the Formation + Próxima program. The Turismo de Portugal project, developed locally by schools in the sector in partnership with local authorities, aims to train 75 professionals by 2025, free of charge and adapted to the local needs of each municipality.

In Portimão, the project will advance through the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Portimão and, according to the municipality, «aims to train the human resources of companies and entities in the municipality, providing a diagnostic survey in order to create a training plan that responds to the needs of the local business fabric».

The program is aimed at entrepreneurs, managers, middle and operational staff, as well as all people who, directly or indirectly, work in the tourism sector, and aims to guarantee a reinforcement of their qualifications.

«For the municipality to have a more qualified, qualified and value-creating tourist offer in the local economic fabric, the survey to be made available to companies in the sector and other interested entities seeks to know their specific needs, so that, with an articulated vision, it is possible to guarantee a correct adequacy of the training to be developed and to present a properly oriented training offer», also refers to the municipality of Portimão.

This diagnostic survey can be completed at the website of the Municipality of Portimão until 17 April.
