The 5th edition of the Festival do Contraband, for the 2nd consecutive year with the motto of “Tráfico de Artes no Guadiana” will take place next weekend, on the 17th, 18th and 19th of December, featuring an “eclectic program” and, for another year, «installations that will leave their mark on the territory of Alcoutim».
This edition will start on December 17, at 14 pm, with the inauguration of the work “Olhares sobe o Guadiana”, by Homo Sapiem and Exame, Associação Satori, a project “Arts no Guadiana”, as part of the POCRESC Algarve 00 application.
Then follows a «simple, but special, artistically rich and diversified program, which will present Theatre, Music, Art, Tales, Living Statues, caricatures, clowns, among other proposals», highlights the City Council.
The complete program can be consulted here, with online transmissions, in a format adapted to the pandemic context, in order to minimize the risks of proximity and concentration of people.
Osvaldo Gonçalves, president of the Alcoutim Chamber, says that “it is important to continue this project and enhance the value of the territory, without forgetting the importance that, despite the pandemic context in which we live, it is crucial to continue to invest in the realization of initiatives that, complying with the guidelines of the DGS, allow to bring to the citizens events that, with an innovative character, promote the alcoholic culture and identity, either in person or online».
