Miguel Sancho, young sailor from the Clube Naval de Faro, finished in 10th place in the World Championship in Laser 4.7 (ILCA 4), which was played in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland. On the other hand, João Pontes, also from GCNF, was 20th.
Over the six days, 11 races were disputed, with winds between 4 and 35 knots and a lot of current.
According to a press release from the GCNF, it was a championship «with a difficult start, the discards were on the first day and it was necessary to lift your head, roll up your sleeves and leave everything in the water! These kids don't know what it means to give up and not for a second did they lower their arms, set high goals and every day they proved how much they deserve to be at the top of the world fleet».
After returning to Portugal and a short vacation, the sailors will start preparing for the National Championship.
