Tiago Bento and Jorge Sousa together in the “Tradition/Inovation” of music in Silves

Concert will feature works by Francis Poulenc, António Vitorino d'Almeida, Béla Kovács or Jacob TV

Tiago Bento (clarinet) and Jorge Sousa (saxophone) will join Sérgio de A (piano) for the concert “Tradição/Inovação”, on June 19, at 21 pm, in the auditorium of Escola Secundária de Silves.

With a musical program composed of works by several European composers, “Tradition / Innovation” will feature compositions by Francis Poulenc, António Vitorino d'Almeida, Béla Kovács or Jacob TV.

The work of French composer Francis Poulenc, commissioned by clarinetist Benny Goodman, will be presented in three movements, taking viewers on a musical journey full of allusions to the music of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev.

The concert will also feature the absolute debut of a recent work by Portuguese composer António Vitorino d'Almeida for tenor saxophone and piano. The work is divided into three parts and the author will present his music using very different illustrations.

Finally, the music of the Dutch composer Jacob TV will be presented in “Grab IT!”, one of his most played pieces, where the lines of a prisoner sentenced to death are “musicalized”.

The concert “Tradition | Innovation” is part of the I Cycle of Workshops, promoted by Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense.

Reservations must be made via email ([email protected]) or telephone number 926 201 876.
