The Public Ministry (MP) asked, this Tuesday, a prison sentence of more than 20 years for the two women accused of killing a man in 2020, in the Algarve, while the defense asked for their acquittal, claiming the lack of evidence.

In the presentation of the final arguments in the Court of Portimão, prosecutor Miguel Teixeira argued that "in view of the expert, documentary and testimonial evidence produced" at trial, the defendants "have to be punished severely, for a crime that caused social alarm, with a penalty exceeding 20 years and very close to the maximum penalty provided for in the Penal Code”.

The lawyers of the two women accused in co-authorship of the death of Diogo Gonçalves asked for the acquittal of the defendants because they understand that there is no evidence to support an accusation, considering that the court was unable to prove the circumstances and responsibility of each of the defendants in the crime.
