The Portuguese women's football team is concentrated today in Lagos, where it begins preparations for the last two games of group E qualifying for the European, with Finland and Scotland.

The Algarve captain and captain Cláudia Neto (Fiorentina) and Vanessa Marques (Ferencvaros) and Diana Silva (Aston Villa) will not be allowed to join the team later, due to commitments at the respective clubs, at the start of the work.

In the Algarve, after carrying out the Covid-19 screening tests, the women's team, led by Francisco Neto, will have daily and bi-daily training sessions until next Tuesday, the day they travel to Helsinki.

The team plays first against Finland, on 19 February, at a time when the two teams lead on equal points in group E, followed by the game against the already eliminated Scotland, in 23, in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The commitment with the Scots will be on neutral ground, after an agreement between the two federations and with the authorization of UEFA regarding the restrictions on flights between the UK and Portugal, due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

For the European Championship, to be played in England in 2022, the winning teams from the nine groups will directly qualify, plus the three second best, while the remaining six will compete in a play-off for three more places, in April.
