The construction work of the Parque Verde da Ribeira de Aljezur was resumed and the works should be concluded «before the beginning of summer», announced the Aljezurense City Council.
This intervention was suspended after the abandonment of the company that had won the first tender. However, a new procedure was launched and the work has already been awarded again, for around 323 thousand euros, plus VAT.
«This is the resumption of an important work, as it is located on the “25 de Abril” street, which has a priority function in the functional organization of the village. The concentration of uses is justified by the coexistence of the regional mobility axis (National Road 120), with the urban center», according to the City Council of Aljezur.
In total, an area of about 2700 square meters will be repaired «in a 220-meter extension of the riverside walkway, in continuity with the existing pedestrian walkway, in a space resulting from the demolition of buildings that formed the eastern front of the street».
The work “will concern the level of paved surfaces, delimitation of the built margin with the inclusion of accesses to the natural margin and built elements that encourage the permanence and enjoyment of the natural landscape of the margins and the longitudinal circulation of the urban front”.
The profile of the road lane will also be improved, with an extension and inclusion of parking spaces.
This project has a participation of 70% of CRESC ALGARVE 2020 funding.
