Martim Longo water supply network will be renewed

The investment, predicts the Alcoutim Chamber, will allow a «reduction of water losses of more than 20.000m3/year»

The Martim Longo water supply network will be renewed, in an investment of around 1 million euros, fully supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

The work must be completed by December 31, 2025.

The project «aims at the renovation and rehabilitation of degraded or technically deficient infrastructure in the Martim Longo water supply network, namely distribution pipes and their accessories», says Alcoutim City Council.

This is a potentially problematic network area in terms of water losses, made of fiber cement and over 40 years old, requiring priority intervention.

«In this intervention, the renovation of part of the water supply network to the village of Martim Longo will be carried out, with the construction of the water supply network, it will be implemented with meshed distribution, in order to guarantee greater reliability of the system, over an extension of 6300 meters», explains the municipality.

The investment, predicts Alcoutim City Council, will allow a «reduction in water losses of more than 20.000m3/year».
