Quarteira will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April with Cantares de Abril with Afonso Dias, a solemn session and exhibitions.
The 50th anniversary celebrations take place over three days with various activities. On the 21st, the Centro Autárquico will host the Cantares de Abril “For Santa Liberdade”, by Afonso Dias, in an intimate session.
The 25th of April begins at 9:00 am, at the Centro Autárquico, with the raising of the flag to the sound of the national anthem, performed by Lígia Pereira, followed by the recitation of poems by Fernando Cabral and Pedro Monteiro.
The ceremony also features the exhibition of works “Liberdade com Arte” by the Dr. Laura Ayres School Group, which will be available until May 3rd, and the usual offering of harpsichords in collaboration with the Scouts of Quarteira.
The end of the celebrations, on the 27th, is reserved for the show “Ondas da Liberdade”, by the Leirena Teatro company, at 15:30 pm, in Praça do Mar.
From May 31st to June 5th, the Municipal Center will host the collective exhibition of the Municipal Library Network entitled “Abril por cá!”, where the works of the D. Dinis School Group will be present.
The event is the result of the joint organization of the Quarteira Parish Council and the Loulé City Council.
