PSP detained eight people in Olhão, Portimão and Lagos over the weekend

One occurred in Praia da Rocha, following the monitoring of the city's public CCTV system

This weekend, the PSP arrested eight people for the crimes of possession of a prohibited weapon, driving without a legal license and driving while drunk, in the cities of Olhão, Portimão and Lagos.

Of these arrests, the PSP highlights one occurred in the Praia da Rocha area, in Portimão, following the monitoring of the city's public CCTV system, which allowed the detection of several suspects attacking a citizen, next to an establishment.

The images allowed, “immediately”, the police officers who were nearby to move to the location, having also witnessed one of the suspects attacking the victim.

Following the approach, the PSP found the man had an extendable baton, considered a prohibited weapon.

Subsequent investigations also made it possible to identify another suspect in these attacks, who was named a defendant.

In the same period, in the cities of Olhão, Portimão and Lagos, six other citizens were arrested for road crimes.
