Portimonense drew 2-2 with Casa Pia, in a game from the 29th round of the I Football League, played this Sunday, April 14, in Portimão. The Algarve team were leading by two, but allowed a draw.
The Algarve team were coming off a victory in Chaves (2-3) and could have left the maintenance play-off place in case of victory.
And the truth is that Portimonense reached a two-goal lead, after goals from Tamble Monteiro (eight minutes) and the Brazilian Alemão (26), but the Casapians, who are going into their third match without losing, reacted and equalized through the Japanese Soma (34) and Bosnian Zolotic (59).
With this draw, Portimonense remains in a complicated situation in the championship, occupying 16th place, in contention for the maintenance play-off, with 27 points, while Casa Pia remains in a quiet ninth place, with 32 points.
