In the early hours of this Wednesday, April 17, the Tavira Maritime Police carried out an inspection action aimed at fishing with towed hooks, between Barril beach and Barra de Tavira.
This action resulted in the preparation of three notices for three vessels in an irregular situation.
During this action, five operating fishing vessels were inspected, with crew members of Spanish nationality, «using fishing gear called “towed hook”, with three of them operating outside the legally defined hours», says the National Maritime Authority ( AMN).
Five members of the Tavira Maritime Police Local Command were involved in this action, supported by two vessels and two vehicles.
