Spring Exhibition brings culture, gastronomy and fun to downtown Tavira

Initiative takes place between the 25th and 28th of April

More than a hundred exhibitors, spread across various spaces in the city center, will promote the Tavira Spring Exhibition, which takes place between the 25th and 28th of April.

Crafts, sweets, music, theater, workshops, gastronomic demonstrations and exhibitions are the attractions of this initiative.

As part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, Mercado da Ribeira will host, at 21:30 pm, the concerts of AGIR – Canta Abril, on the 25th, Boémia, with their album “Génese”, on the 26th, and fado singer Diamantina, with her work “Conta-me como foi”, on the 27th.

On the 28th, to close the event, Marenostrum from Tavira invited the Banda Musical de Tavira to a concert commemorating their “30 Years – Canções do Mar e Serra”.

For the youngest there is traveling entertainment, gardening workshops, paper making and plastic expression, by the Associação Semente de Alfarroba, traditional toys, at the Museu do Brincar, and the exhibition “Memórias do Brincar”, in Jardim das Palmeiras.

There is also a presence, in the same place, at the D. Roberto theater, with shows by Companhias SA Marionetas, Valdevinos Teatro de Marionetas and Teatro Joaquim, by Luís Manhita from the Algarve.

«In order to value and make our intangible cultural heritage known, the program pays special attention to ethnography, with performances by the Folklore Ranches of Santo Estêvão and Tavira, Grupo de Cantares de Cachopo “Searas de Outono”, Lado a Lado Project , Pérolas do Gilão, and the Alentejo singing of the Grupo Coral da Casa do Povo de Reguengos de Monsaraz, in the space of the old Lota», concluded the Chamber of Tavira.

On the morning of Saturday, April 27th, there will be a Gastronomic Demonstration, at the Municipal Market, with chefs Rui Cristino, Sara Nunes and Vasco Martins, and in the afternoon, a wine tasting at the Tavira Municipal Museum – Palácio da Galeria.
